Lesson Resources

This week we bring some history (and economics) into our study of geography. We will learn why Europeans sought out and then colonized the new lands they found while seeking new trade routes to Asia.

European Exploration Part 1

In the Pear Deck inside the Google classroom, you will learn about Dark Ages Europe, and how new information coming into Europe at the end of this time led to Europeans looking for new opportunities. You will take notes on the Dark Ages as you look at slides, watch short videos and read a short selection in our Discovery Education text. All links to the reading and videos are in the Pear Deck slideshow.

A note about notes: As an AVID school, teachers will often provide Cornell notes for students. I am one of those teachers. However, you may use any note-taking format that you prefer as long as they show effort, and are useful to you later.
